The Adventures of Cap’n Hushpuppy

I started off the morning by annoying my loved ones with songs about nautical-print pashmina afghans and tales of Captain Jack Sparrow. Why? ‘Cause we were sailing on a boat! (For those who are not Lonely Island aficionados, Google it.)

We started the morning with a 2-hour sail. It was a beautiful day– the sun was shining, the wind was at a good clip, humidity was low. Hushpuppy was EXCITED.

And, then, after an hour, he decided he was done.

How did we get Hushpuppy out of his funk? We let him play with the point and shoot. Most of his shots were like this:

But this one wasn’t bad.

After a nice, long nap, we headed to the beach. The light and the waves were beautiful. Hushpuppy loved splashing in the surf.

After a day of play, ice cream (Hushpuppy chose banana pudding.), and grilling, we were exhausted. But, there’s always time for a story.

Good night, friends.

Code Name: Hushpuppy

We are settling into a routine on BHI. Wake up. Take a nice, long walk somewhere pretty. Bambino naps. Take a swim. Dinner. Lounge. Repeat.

Bambino is acclimating well. He has adopted Island fashion trends.

(Disclaimer: Matt has his hands firmly on the wheel. We are not letting Hushpuppy/Bambino drive.)

In other words, are continuing to teach him that travel, change, and different places/flavors/people are wonderful things. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. 😉
