There was no futbol today. Apparently, the teams switched the date and time of the match, and it happened late yesterday. There’s no way Bambino would have lasted through an 8:45 PM match, even if we had caught it. Nonetheless, il Marito was very, very disappointed. Gutted. But, we were thankful that we caught the mix-up early, and didn’t make the trek to the Stadium. Lemonade out of lemons, right?
So, we spent the day exploring the Forum and Colosseum. We took tons of photos. Then, il Marito realized his camera had unexpectedly been pushed to manual focus. A lot of his images were blurry messes. Well-composed, but blurry messes. This did not help his general mood. But, we caught the mistake before we left the Colosseum, so he was able to reshoot, and got some fantastic images. Limoncello out of lemons

We stumbled upon a great little pizzeria with outdoor seating for lunch. Birra alla spina, supplí, and pizza can do a lot to turn your mood around… Especially when this is your walk home.

After some time at the flat, we had dinner on the Piazza Navona. il Marito had never been there before. It was magical. Our day went from rubbish, to goodish, to magical. According to il Marito, we are now artisan limoncello makers.
Buona notte!
