A Lazy Wednesday

After a busy day yesterday, il Bambino was spent . I woke him up at 8:00 am, and he was not pleased. (Mom needed a cappuccino. Don’t judge.). Rather than pack in another touristy day, we slowed things down.

We returned to Estense. It was a gorgeous morning, and you could really see the Alps. Then, we did some shopping. A lot of toys were purchased at Citta’ del Sole– a department store with quite possibly the best toy selection in the world. Bambino approved.

We had a lunch al fresco at Bella Napoli. Bambino fed the pigeons most of his lunch, but I enjoyed it. However, his two bites of burrata and a kilo of grissini (I may need to buy stock in a breadstick company) wore him out. Lunch was followed by a 2.5 hour nap. I read a book.

Since the sun was still shining, and it was 75 degrees out, Bambino’s nap was followed by a romp in the hotel garden.

Il Marito returned from work, and we went to an amazing little restaurant outside the city center. The chef invited Bambino back for a visit, and made him a special plate of penne con burro. The grown-up food wasn’t too shabby either.

After another fun night out, Bambino was cotto. (Translation– cooked.)

I hope he gets a good night of sleep. Rumor has it that we’re taking a boat ride tomorrow!
